Humanity & Inclusion – Inclusive Education Project

With focus on improvement of living conditions and promotion of respect and dignity of people with disabilities, HI has partnered with two Lao COs to provide increased inclusive educational services in the Lao PDR. The IE project advocates the right for and access to quality inclusive education for all persons with disabilities.


Civitas conducted baseline research for the project, using a mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies: including interviews with children with intellectual disabilities with use of the ScoPeO-Kid questionnaire, interviews with school principals or head teachers; case study interviews with parents of children with disabilities, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD): with parents, teachers and Village Education Development Committee (VEDC) members. The research has been accompanied by targeted analysis to provided recommendations to project documentation.
