Mette has been engaged in development projects in the Lao PDR for more than 15 years: designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating projects with a strong focus on social and environmental sustainability.
She has considerable experience in social behaviour change for development: designing participatory tools and strategies for capacity building and behaviour change in various contexts. Drawing on my background in social anthropology my work is focused on social inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable and marginalised groups and development of methodologies that engage target population in the production of knowledge and moulding of new practices.
Working as an independent consultant to various multilateral organizations, NGOs and Government institutions, Mette has developed a broad and profound understanding of development modalities in a wide range of rural communities of different ethnicities.
